If you’re looking to buy Kratom, there are a few things that you are going to consider. First, you need to decide which strain is right for you. Are you more of a Green Malay or Green Maeng Da kind of person? Or maybe your needs are best suited not by a green strain at all, but perhaps a red one like Red Bali. Once you’ve made the selection of what kind of Kratom to buy, you’ll need to figure out the quantity. Do you go for bulk Kratom? Or sample sizes?
Whether you’re a longtime Kratom fan or a newbie, there are several things to consider when it comes to quantity. How often do you plan on utilizing your Kratom? Where will you keep it? And so on. We come across many people in the Kratom community who ask about bulk packaging before they ask anything else. When it comes to Kratom powder, there are a few questions you should ask yourself before deciding what will work best for you. This article will cover the shelf life of Kratom, how Kratom should be stored and how to determine what’s the best size choice for you.
How Long Does Kratom Powder Last?
This is one of the most important things to consider before you buy any kind of Kratom. You have to remember that Kratom aka Mitragyna Speciosa is a plant and no plant will stay fresh forever. The average shelf life for Kratom is roughly three months. However, depending on how your Kratom is stored, it can last much longer. If you are a regular consumer of Kratom powder, shelf-life probably doesn’t need to be a huge concern for you. That still doesn’t necessarily mean you should stock up on bulk Kratom. It just means that you should be fine with purchasing average quantities of it.
You’re probably realizing that storage is a very important factor in determining how long your Kratom will last. Well, you are absolutely correct! Let’s look at the best ways to keep your Kratom fresh.
How Should I Store my Kratom?
No matter how quickly or slowly you go through your Kratom, you should definitely make sure it is being properly stored. Failure to do so can result in a quicker degradation of your precious Kratom. And that my friend, would be a tragedy. Whether you are saving some for a rainy day or taking it out regularly, here is what you need to know. The following are a few tips to keep in mind to preserve the integrity of your Kratom.
- Store in a cool, dry place. This is the first and most important step in storing Kratom. Moisture is a Kratom killer. A cabinet, cupboard, or even a drawer will work.
- Avoid Sunlight. If you follow step number one, then this is not a problem. Kratom kept in a drawer, cabinet, etc already shuts out sunlight. However, you may think something like keeping it on your bedroom nightstand is convenient and ‘cool and dry.’ While that might be true, what if your nightstand is exposed to sunlight for half of the day? These are little things to keep in mind when choosing the perfect storage place for you.
- Keep it Sealed. This should be a no-brainer, but worth emphasizing! Regardless of where you keep your Kratom, you MUST always keep it sealed! A regular ziploc bag can do the trick. Ignore this rule and you risk oxidation. This will cause your Kratom to turn stale and I’m sure that’s the last thing you want! Not to mention if your Kratom powder isn’t sealed properly, it can easily be knocked around and cause it to go everywhere. That’s a mess I know I wouldn’t want to clean up!
How Much Kratom Should I Buy?
Determining how much Kratom you should buy is certainly a personal choice. However, we have some advice that can hopefully help you make that decision. First, you should consider how well you know your strains. Are you a repeat buyer, or trying something new? If you are looking to get something you’re never had before, it is probably best to get a smaller quantity. If you are buying a strain that you know you prefer, you can buy a larger quantity. At Karma, we offer Kratom in four ounce and eight ounce options. It is always wise to rotate between a few different strains in order to not build up a large tolerance. This is why when it comes to Kratom, bulk doesn’t always equal best.
You should now have a better idea on how long your Kratom will last as well as how best to keep it stored. And when buying Kratom, the amount is always a personal choice. Do you buy bulk Kratom? Medium Bags? Sample sizes? As long as you continue to have a few different strains in rotation and can keep them stored properly you probably can’t go wrong with size!
